Ripcord
I finally finished Keith Nolan's "Ripcord." Elements of the 501st and 506th of the Screaming Eagles were at FSB Ripcord in July of 1970. They had three weeks of hard fighting before evacuating in late July. Two MOH's were awarded in that fight, one of them going to their fallen btn co Lt Col Lucas. A lot of their wounded went to Charlie Med at Camp Evans, which is Doc Fred's outfit.
This is my seventh Keith Nolan book and one of the hardest for me to read. I found "Ripcord" and "Sappers in the Wire" (FSB Mary Ann) to be very disturbing and emotional for me to read. This book reinforces my opinion that all of you deserve all the support that us non-vets can give. Chilidog |

Operation Buffalo was my first Nolan book. That was a really tough fight. I don't know how any of those guys made it out physically or mentally.
