I know from working at the Naval Hospital that there are times the CO tries like hell to get stuff for the Hospital, but is disaproved by BuMed. I wonder if, and not defending ANYONE in this debacle, if he/she would try to get conditions changed, then be told the same stuff we are, "no money". With them on the BRAC list, I can see this happen....but in the same breath,

There is a bunch of stuff we need at our hospital, and the new current CO just spent 30Grand + to have her office remodled. The beautiful marble original floors, are now wood. I can't even get money to go TAD to get my CEU's to keep my license up, which is THEIR REQUIREMENT, but hey, the CO's office looks nice from what I hear. I haven't visited her new digs, never will. My retirement package is in....now we'll see how long I have left.

In my opinion, whoever let this happened, CO, higher ups, WHOEVER, needs to go....but doubt that'll happen.

Saw on the Fox News Channel last night that after Gates toured WRMC, the ax was already being re-sharpened. We may never hear of it, but I'd wager at least general rank officers get canned, and the sooner the better. I don't think it's really plausible to think that the President would have the time to personally inspect all the medical facilities, so faulting him is looking in the worng direction for causes. From the tone of the report of negligence, I"d warrant that bad maintenance at the facility has been going on for decades; a building just doesn't go to crapola in a slhort period of time.
