The bulk of the Russian army is not loyal to its leadership, convicted war criminal and former “official” of the Russian puppet authorities in Donetsk, Igor Girkin (Strelkov), said in a video posted on Twitter on July 16.

“I’m afraid of the possibility that the enemy will still be able to break through our front by late August without exhausting his forces, in a situation where we have a president who is not informed, or we have a president who is incapable of making decisions,” Girkin said.

“Then we will get a disaster on a national scale, much greater than the immediate consequences of some military defeat, even a serious one.”

In addition to the Wagner Group armed mutiny, Girkin cited as an example the purging of top military officers in Russia, in particular, the recent dismissal of the commander of the 58th Army, Major General Ivan Popov.

Popov subsequently took to Telegram to voice his grievances about his dismissal.

“(Wagner leader Yevgeny) Prigozhin’s coup obviously achieved at least part of its goals,” Girkin said.

“Popov’s speech shows that the army is not internally loyal to its own top command. The gap between the command, the leadership of the defense ministry and the army is huge. In this situation, the risk of military defeat becomes a risk for our statehood,” Girkin said.

In this regard, Girkin predicts that all those responsible for the war against Ukraine will eventually face an international tribunal.

“If someone from the top security forces entertained the thought that he would be personally forgiven and not sent to The Hague, you are mistaken,” Girkin said.

“The Rotenbergs, Kovalchuks, Timchenkos and Abramovichs (Russian oligarchs) will send everyone to The Hague. All those who will prevent them from continuing to pump resources from here and support the occupation regime they will establish here.”

Personal note: How much of this is true or fabrication - to be determined.
But would his replacement be any better? That's the question?
