ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -* -- You took the pledge to serve your country, now take the pledge to save money. Start small, think big.

Military Saves Week is running from Feb. 25 through March 1. The Royal Air Force Lakenheath Airman and Family Readiness Center and other base agencies are setting up informational booths around the base that will provide financial workshops to help people build wealth, get rid of debt and plan for retirement.

Military Saves is part of Department of Defense's Financial Readiness Campaign, encouraging military families to start planning for the future by saving money each month.

Military Saves persuades service members, their families and civilian employees to take the "Saver Pledge," a promise to oneself to start or continue saving money.

RAF Lakenheath A&FRC is holding a series of financial classes to help Airmen start saving, planning and investing. A certified financial planner will also be available starting Feb. 25 through March 8 to help with financial issues. To sign up for any class or schedule a personal financial consultation, call the A&FRC at 226-3847.
