Why Is It?
1-24-2023
(Just A Question)?” Why is it that a person (not I) who has carried the same insurance coverage for nearly twenty years, when they are involved in a minor incident of questionable responsibility and liability, has to fight even their own insurance carrier? “Are there not laws that cover incidents and principals like this?” And once again, this situation “WAS NOT MINE” - but rather it happened to an acquaintance who is naturally quite upset, and rightfully so, over the situation itself, but rather, over the amount of “pure bull-shit” that they (and not I) are being subjected to, as a result of a nerve-racking incident! And so once again in my opinion, a person should not have to fight, even their own insurance carrier as well, when that person is definitely not at fault, nor are they the enemy here! And once again, I was “Not The One” involved in this unfortunate situation, but as a matter of general principal, it still does not speak too highly, or even positively, of ‘any’ company and/or even entity that is so involved – “Now Does It?” And may The Almighty and our system of Government as well, continue to sanctify our Constitutionally-Guaranteed – “Freedom Of Speech!” (Once Again - These Are But My Own Personal Opinions!) I can relate to that
I recently lets say about 3.5-4 months ago got creamed by a woman
near my home. - 1st accident that I can recall in over 30 years or more. - The Gal that hit me was in a panic - she was going thru labor. Jumped out behind some cars into another lane took my entire front end off my Nitro and gave me a concustion. - My head hit the window so hard I was loopy. I got out to see how bad she was but could barely walk. - The fire dept and two ambulances showed up. - Asked me if my air bags went off I said no. Why they ask is beyond me? - I gave them my lic and insurance cards. - She had no license - was prenant and having a baby in the car. Plus she was busted earlier for mariuanna and no insurance. [NOTE: I had recently renewed my insurance to cover my car and the wife's and unisured motorist from Geico for $135 for the whole year. I must've had some early warnings that maybe I was due? I will now stay with liability but also include uninsured motorist.] - She had her baby at the same hospital while I was in intensive care. - Head was ringing badly but after the brain scan they said I had no brain bleeds and the ringing may take some time to reset. I was scaned and cleared to leave to someone else driving. My car was towed $250 to a scrap hold yard. & $125 per day for each day they have it. which was overnight and we towed it to the repair shop $175.00 Both my daghter's showed up - told them not to call Mom I didn't want to them tell her. Not in her current medical condition - plus I would be leaving shortly. - The whole front end of the Nitro was missing or exploded (whatever) but the front axial was impossible to turn wheels were hard right locked and you couldn't turn the steering wheel for the front end. - Called insurance company Geico - they said not to worred we would be covered and inspect but they would pay towing & pay all medical bills - $8500 medical bills not including the auto. - Insurance company again said they would fix it. Well they did - it took about 2.5 months to get it back. The Nitro is either a 2 wheel or 4 wheel system. Got it back and the sure as hell - the new steering rack elements (were misaligned and the front rack was replaced. It was replaced and and the steering locked up so bad you couldn't turn it. I just got it back again ~ two weeks ago with a new rack and low and behold it blew out and the steering as well. Hence it had to be rebuilt once again and more twoing charges and the whole shot. - I swear many of these so call repair shops don't have certified mech's. - I got it back after they installed the second rerack replacement and power steering pump. Sure as the hell - the power steering went out and the car had to be reworked. I was pissed. I could've been wiped out by a semi when I tried to turn the steering wheel. - Yesterday they brought it back to me at home. 4-5 weeks to get it back the 2nd time. - Now the Heater went out. What did they do! - I took my Nitro to my Mech's in Munter, IN this morning. Put it on a lift and looked at the new rack - damn it was still wrong! - I took it to my auto shop that I've gone to for many years and these guys know their shit! Yep the rack needed some mods and the boots were not secured. They fixed their errors on the forward rack and secured the boots to the front wheels with the locks - they didn't put in. - My Heater was found to have an air bubble in the system - they bled it out (these guys know their shit) - once the bubble was bled out the heat came on like gangbusters. - They only charged me $54 to fix everything. You have to find shops where the mech's know their shit! I also had a rear tire leak - they said it was rim leak. they fixed that at no charge. - I recommend their shop to everyone I know (even my daughters) when they ask me where should I go. It seems they now have 12 mech's working 10-12 hrs 6-days aweek. Just brought in some young guys for training they will make good mech's for sure. - The 2nd rebuild was also covered by Geico didn't asked how bad they got ripped off - but I did tell them about this shop and I highly recomend they use them in he future to get it right the first time. - Their Shop is Complete Car Center in Munster, IN - These guys know their shit! They get it done the 1st time - no B.S. - (Boats)
