Default NATO policy makers discuss deterrence and nuclear policy

Representatives from NATO nations, NATO staffs and other experts, gathered in Washington, D.C., on Thursday (29 November 2018) at the invitation of the United States to address deterrence requirements against the background of a changing and challenging security environment. Coming on the heels of July’s NATO Summit, the NATO Nuclear Policy Symposium, which is held annually and hosted by an Ally, focused on a wide range of topics, including the strengthening of NATO’s deterrence and defense posture, arms control, and priorities for adapting NATO’s nuclear policy.
