Default Re: The Ten Toughest Schools to Get Into

High admission standards do not always guarantee that the schools will
deliver a good education.

In the case of the 3 US Academies, the main reason they are tough to
get in is because they offer full scholarship and also a living
stipend. The applicants have to compete and secure appointments by
their local congressmen.

On top of the academics, the students get trainings in very handy
careers in flying, boating and hand-to-hand combat etc...The students
have to serve a minimum of 5 years in the US armned forces after
graduation.

One of my younger cousin from Hacienda Heights HS got admitted into
the US Airforce Academy, got a degree and pilot license. He wanted to
fly fighter jets like a F-22, F-117, F-15 or F-16 but was given a
KC-135 which is a very large, old and slow air tanker, converted from
the civilian Boeing 707 of the 60's. The plane was twice his age when
he inherited it! At the time he graduated, he's all of 120 Lbs, a
lanky, scrawny Asian guy, flying a 100-ton tanker jet! This is how
Uncle Sam can claim an air force full of BRAND NEW PILOTS and HIGHLY
EXPERIENCED PLANES!!! These guys make despots like Nong Duc Manh of
Vietnam, Kim Jong Il of North Korea and Fidel Castro of Cuba crap in
their sissy diapers each time they fly by.

He based out of Alaska, refueling spy planes and bombers going to
North Korea, China and Russia. After a few years, he got out of the
service and immediately got hired for a well paying pilot job by one
of the big airlines which is currently in chapter 11 bankruptcy
proceedings, you should know which one. He was recalled to fly tanker
during the Agfaghistan and Iraq wars.

Over all it was very good way to quickly launch an exciting career. Do
check out all the opportunities!
