Gene Simmons Kisses Off Anti-war Crowd

Gene Simmons may be best known for his makeup-wearing, tongue-contorting antics as part of the rock group Kiss. But there's more to the guy than meets the theatrical eye.

Born Chaim Witz from Haifa, Israel, Simmons is highly educated and speaks four languages. He's got some pithy statements on his Web site that others in the entertainment field might try reading.

On U.S. history, Simmons posts, "If you don't have the guts to stand up to injustice, where ever it exists (and that means stopping the Germans, the Japanese and the Italians in WWI and WWII ... or the Albanian Serbs in Bosnia ... or the tragedies that keep on occurring in Africa ... or even the Viet Nam War ... Panama ... North Korea ... the list goes on and on) ... One thing in common with all these events: AMERICA. America didn't stay and 'conquer' ANY OF THESE COUNTRIES."

As for fellow libs in the entertainment biz, Simmons says that he's "ashamed to be surrounded by people calling themselves Liberal who are, in my opinion, spitting on the graves of brave American soldiers who gave their life to fight a war that wasn't theirs ... in a country they've never been to ... simply to liberate the people therein."

The rocker makes an appeal to those who hold fast to an appeasement mentality: "The answer to any doubters lies in watching Iraq's people dancing in the streets."

I have to tell you, Simmons is a fellow musician. I had the chance to meet him several years ago at a number of venues where we both played. He always exuded an intelligence that his stage persona just didn't reveal.

I always admired Gene Simmons he wrote some good songs also

Athough Gene Simmons is a good song writer, and a very good bad guy actor, His opinion, I May agree with , but is still only the opinion of an actor/singer.
I'll give him way more credit for speaking four languages than singing or acting or having an opinion.

Still, it's nice to have someone in the music/acting field that is not running his mouth off calling us baby killers.

Wouldn't it be nice if the media would publicize the many individuals in the field that say they feel this way as they do the Hanoi Janes?

I think its more sad than anything. It shouldn't be abnormal for some actor to support the American ideals and troops.
Yes its good that a singer/actor supports the troops, buuuuuut, Good bad or ugly, its still the opinion of an singer/actor, which means just above squat.
Im not going to run out and buy a KISS cd ( I have 2) just because he is doing what he should do, On the other hand Im not going to make an effert NOT to buy his stuff also.
Of corse this is just my opinon also.

In WW2 They operated the Hollywood Canteen and in NYC they had another Canteen operated by Stars and singers who proudly supported the troops and many an Actor volunteerd for Military service (some did those infamous films they showed the troops on VD and the Like ) Now the silly crowd in Hollywood think they know more then Prez Bush and the Military how to run the country and fight a war go figure !
