The finger, for freeway people

Today I was driving on the Freeway and had to exit, This guy spead up when I put on my turn signal and me having the "more power" sped up more than he did and I exited in front of him, He gave me the finger when coming to the red light from the exit I slammed on my brakes and jumped out as he jumped the curb and went down the hill in the grass to the freeway under the exit that we had just made. I wasn't going to follow that move.
Any of you give the finger to someone on the freeway? And why would you do that, that person may have a 10 gage in there vehicle and crazy enough to use it.
I hate driving the freeways in Houston, people are such assholes.
People put there signal on , I let them in, they cut in front of me, I cut them off bad. Rules of my road. All they have to do is be a very small part of a decent driver and they can have the road, But be a jerk and jerk is what they get, I believe I can win at Jerk.
