Default Just don't play that Yankee song

Dixie. First sung in a minstrel show in New York City.

Thumbs up SID

Glad the ELL TEE got you inside the perimeter, Bro. Good bunch of people here. You'll find some good friends.

BTW, all FNGs start out on sandbag and shit burning detail. Officers included .

I looked for the Battle of Shilo Hill lyrics but could not find them. I did find a site listed below that sells a cd with the song on it. Marching Through Georgia? No! Hell no! I hate Sherman. And as far as respect for the brothers. I know the rank and file of the boys in Blue believed they were fighting a worthy cause. In my humble opinion though it was about economics. And in my other humble opinion the caucasian assumes too much when as a group we believe that the black man did not have the heart or the intelligence to rise up from the degradation of slavery. It would have happened without a civil war. It was a bloody waste of human life on both sides. And an insult to the intelligence and courage of a group of people both black and white that were willing and able to bring down the institution of slavery without a blood bath. This was not Vietnam. We had the right and the courage to speak out for the oppressed. That's my rant for the day. I think it was the mention of the name of Sherman that got me started. I know I am going to get blasted off the map for this politically incorrect opinion so go on now fall back and fire away...

Default Sherman? Sherman who?

I may be a damyankee but not a dumb one - ain't going there on this forum.
Andy, was that song by any chance "From The Hills of Shiloh" by Judy Collins?
"Listening to the sound of guns;
Listening to the rolling drums;
For the man who never comes
From the hills of Shiloh."

Cool Arrow&Tim

Sis:

You HATE Sherman. A guy who gets the war over quickly usually reduces total KIA's on both sides. Please consider Montgemery VS. Patton. However I will admit that he was a bit careless with matches.
By the way, you said you hate Sherman ok. Do you hate Mr. Peabody and Sherman, or just Sherman?

Tim:

The Battle Of Shiloh Hill was sung by Johnny Horton.
If you go to Google and type in KaZaza then type in the title of any song it will down load the music for you to your own files. It's free! What a great country.

Stay healthy,
Andy
