Why the title ? We were on Army boats and pretty much stayed by the Bridge at Dong Ha --- one Jeep trip to Quang Tri --- did not see units that were stationed there.

Why was it called that ?

Cause that red clay turned to dust and mud with all the troops and vehicles we were running over it, Beau. Even in 71 if you were around Con Thien (a-4 to you Marines) if you were standing up you were running , Bad place and it got worse when you went west. Welcome home Bros !

.....in 69 and 70 it wasn't bad duty...and would get me out
