Nascars points system
I can't see how its going to work.
They (Nascar) basicly gave the top 10 cars in points 2000 points and those 10 cars are racing for the Championship (suposidly) Jack Roush has two cars in the top ten, Mark Martin and Matt Kensett. Now Jack Roush also has 3 other cars that race every week, so lets just supose that Jeff (dickwadd) Gorgen is leading the race and will take Matt Kensett out of the NO.1 spot, now the 99 car which is not in the race drops back and is about to go a lap down to Gorden, except the 99 has stering problems and runs into Gorden and puts Gorden out of the race, AHHH darn. Next week Dale jr is leading and is going to knock Kensett out of 1st, so the 60 car goes a lap down and knocks dale jr out. Next week its the 16s turn to knock one of the chevy boys out. Unless Nascar tell Roush that he can't have mechanical problems this could go on for 10 weeks, and Roush Racing wins. Ron |

I lost interest in this Nascar crap the day Dale Earnhardt died.

The point system changes when a driver gets to the "Chase for the Cup" where each driver is seperated by -5 points from the driver in the higher position. Hence todays leader Matt Kenseth has 5050 points and the second place driver, Jimmie Johnson has 5045 points. Going into Richmond yesterday afternoon the drivers were using the NASCAR system where Kenseth had earned 3,638 points and Johnson had 3,629 points.
It's a whole new ball game during the "Chase" and I'm rooting for the old fart of the bunch, Mark Martin whose 30 points behind in the Chase for the Cup in seventh place.
