Yes they are arent they, I live in the North of England so I dont see them much. I remember when I used to drive home on leave from Germany and loved to see them as we approached Dover on the Channel Ferry. I always imagined how the brave fighter and bomber pilots would have felt on their way home during WW2.
Its a sobering sight.

i raise my glass to the chosen few
Who risked their lives every time they flew
their task was daunting, until it was over
When they saw the white cliffes of Dover.

I saw 'em only once, on the train ferry from Dunkirk... quite a sight.

At the time I recall thinking something along the lines you just wrote MI... the pilots, troop ships and squids comin' home, or leaving.

Here's to ye!

Salute!

I was on one of the last troop ships to be sent to Europe. We passed thru the channel on the way to Bremerhaven. And I was impressed by the cliffs. I remember thinking "Damn, those really are the white cliffs of Dover" Wish I had been smarter back then, I always wanted to see England.

Well, its about time to start decorating for MORTARDUDES retirement party. A few streamers from the Bud light above the pool table, some of them fancy umbrellas for the poolside tables to keep out the moonlight. Some fresh sawdust for the floor. Gotta check the stock and the coolers...............

Whew.... folks have bought me 3 free breakfats this week, my 2nd grade sweet-heart took me out to eat ( she knows my wife ), two different sets of my friends at work took me out to eat, and I am having my big party in 2 weeks. I have spent the last 4 days meeting maybe 500 folks in this big old building ( 1,000,000 sq ft. ) plus two other smaller annex buildings and remembering 32+ years of time with the IRS.... I can't believe it is finally here....

Let's restock the liquor cabinets, beer coolers, and get all sorts of munchies, and keep this party going until Saturday Night !!!!

FREEDOM !!!! HOW SWEET IT IS !!!! PRAISE GOD !!!!

Larry

MI -

Question -

If you were to look on our "Gallery" button, or to your Patriot Files "Edit Options", then way down at the bottom at "Avatar", and then go wayyyyy to the end of all those avatars... there you might find an avatar which is of your unit or one related to your unit?

I would like to see your unit avatar

Some of our American ones are very elegantly designed also.
