That uniforn ain't NAVY its a Fr*#'n Farse, reminds me when some Land lubber admerial in the seventys tryed to make um wear uniforms with shirts and tiesand jackets. Crap they should keel hall the son of a b!*ch for even suggesting a change. what a Pu&&y have that man checked out to see if he is GAY. I'm not too happy with this change and I'm sure anyone who has ever worn a triditional Navy Uniform feels the same. What don't the Brass not understand about if it ain't broke don't fix it. as for standing watch in uniform You do not stand watch in dress uniform if aboard ship you use dungerees unless pulling into port and pier watch was stood on casual dress a top with the back flap and no white piping and thirteen button pants and god help the one who tryed to stand watch without spit shined shoes. the Brass is making a very lazy sailor if they don't have to clean up.First CO_ED ship now this. Well, if you can't hide the ship at least you can try to hide the crew!

Yeah, bright blue on gray, that'll work!

Man, that's been the trademark of U.S. Navy sailors for a LONG time!

Looking now at a photo of my uncle in the Navy in WW2...black uniform and white gob hat. I just can't picture a U.S. sailor without that hat!

How would you sailors feel about that hat becoming history?

I don't think the ole dog dish, will blend well with the cammies. Keep the ball cap for them, no stupid rag like the army now wears!
But it should and must be kept with the cracker jack uniforms!

don't think the crackerjacks will go out, I know I sure as hell loved wearing them. I saw there knew work uniform also, the shirt is tan, like a Marines shirt, the pants are black, and the shirt is tan, and wear your rating on the collars.

It seems the old guard is looking the other way. The Navy traditions of piping and 13 button pants have been around a long time. They had meaning to the design. Of course many of the uniforms had to be slightly tailored in order to get the right look.

My cuff's were silk lined and had dragons on them. Of course when you go the chance or the money you bought the new style gaberdine I think - wool used to bother many guys I recall.

The dixy cup hat had its own style and it took time to get it so that it stay the way you wanted it. Now the old boon dockers they really needed to get a better boot design. I went through many pair of those buggers in my day. They just didn't hold up.
