Default Cigarette Lighter Question?

I'm a bit of pack rat when it comes to collecting items from the USS Independence CV(A)-62.
I've just picked up a ROTHCO Lighter with the ship's logo on it.
Question is how do I go about finding a date of it's manufacture?
I couldn't find a web site for ROTHCO.
Thanks in advance.

Hawk,

To the best of my knowledge Rothco lighters were made by Zippo.

Maybe these websites can help:

http://www.rothco.com/general/index....01&subcatid=94

http://www.zippo.com/main.aspx?referral=&referralURL=

Thanks, but neither of these sites provided the answer I am looking for.

Hawk,

Dont know how to find the date of manufacture, but this is a little hint.

If the Hinge is on the inside when you open it, vice the outside. Hold to it, it is worth alot of $$$, there arent many made that way by Zippo.

reeb.....

BTW, did you pull the cotton stuff out of it and look for a date serial no.

No joy. This is a ROTHCO lighter, can't find any info on how they are connected to Zippo.
