Default "Steel My Soldiers Hearts"

Met Col. David Hackworth last night at a book signing discussion here in Tampa last night at a Barnes & Nobel book store to promote his new book --- "Steel My Soldiers Hearts". He was a very impressive speaker and told some great stories about his time with the Ninth Divison (my old unit) in the Mekong Delta. Got him to sign my first edition copy of his book and had a short conversation about our experiences in that hell-hole! He told me that the "screen play" for the up-coming movie is about finished and selection process for the actors should begin soon. He hopes the movie can be finished in the next two years or so.

If you haven't yet had the chance to read this book, you ought to buy it and read it. It IS the best accounting of combat in the Delta that has so far been written.

Default Yeah Paco

We talked about me in the role of that "crusty" old first shirt. But, he thought I was too debonair & good-looking fer that part! He said he couldn't use a Paul Newman look-a-like fer that part!

HAR! HAR!
