(Another Dark and Morbid Fantasy)

Out of all of the human rights and abilities that have been pursued by humanity ever since it first put in an appearance upon the surface of this, “The Third Planet From The Sun”, is the freedom and the ability to speak our own minds! “In fact, were it not for this blessing/curse, this site too, could not even exist, politicians would be mute and maybe, we would still even be communicating using but grunts and groans?

However, and with all due respect to “Webster”, language too, also has its strong points – just think about that for a moment? As a matter of fact, I can (almost) vividly recall the speeches of several past- presidents who barnstormed “Our Medium-Sized - North-Eastern-Burgh”, away back in the late 1940s and early 1950s. “And of course, and even though the points of attention may have varied a bit in the last 70 to 80 years, the rhetoric and the urgency to us all - certainly have not!”

But once again, however, the times and the scope of activity have definitely done an about face over these passing years - but in our own uncertain reality, things remain pretty much the same! And save for the fact that our destructive toys have grown much bigger, and even far more lethal at times - our penchant for violence and destruction are just as terminal as they have ever been! So call me a pessimist or even a fatalist if you must, but in distant times to come, humanity could still be at war with the greatest of all its enemies - itself?

This may, after all, just be the self-generated final destiny of all of mankind – “WHO REALLY KNOWS FOR SURE?”
