Terminating California - Who?s Next?

?In-Home Support Services? is a system by which the infirmed and elderly of the once Golden [now tin-plated] State of California, are able to hire a [usually] part time assistant to help them with their daily living arrangements!

This position, one that requires the ?Care-Giver? to be a part nurse, part time cook, part time housekeeper, part time babysitter for the elderly, and a full time confidant, is not a job that many could fill, and most would not even want to!

Now add to this the fact that the governor [with a very small ?g? in my opinion] of California wants to reduce the wage earned by these needed and skilled caretakers from $8.50 an hour to a mere $6.75 per hour [minimum wage], and you begin to realize that our [Austrian-Born] Terminator is again on a reckless and dangerous rampage! The governor is, after all, a man who spends far more on imported stogies than most people even earn!!

I guess that this should come as no surprise, however, especially after the blitz [$$] that has been waged against our school systems, as well as our very own children, by many a would-be Caesar! And let us never forget the heartless slaughter of other needed social programs [many of them medical]. Services that benefited [if but barely] the State?s elderly and infirmed!

With several ingenious attacks now being waged against the Social Security System, ground once thought politically suicidal to tread upon, the virtual obliteration of the less than affluent and/or less politically endowed, seems to be a logical progression!? And to the scant few ?Power-Addicted? maniacs who seek to resurrect a Les Miserable Society - American-Style, all stops have apparently been pulled out, as they now plan their own ?Final Solution!? [opinion]

Have some in power come to the conclusion that ?We The People? lack the will or the ability or the grit to protest or legally resist injustice? After all, are not our nation?s finest currently engaged elsewhere, while a few ?Pseudo-Political-Heroes? pound their hollow chests in a gesture that resemble the King Kong of yore?

?Getting back to the case in point [In Home Support Services], how is this for a real kick in the backside??

I personally know of a dedicated care-giver who has been graciously allowed but one hour a day to help a sickly individual, and who has been generously gifted with but $8.50 for that hour of hard and often messy work! And out of this monumental windfall, one that amounts to a mere $258 a month, that person is also required to pay union dues and has even been pressured [at times] to pay taxes on the scant earnings! And if the Terminator [or is that Eradicator] gets his way, he would reduce this $8.50 to a mere $6.75 an hour! This of course, is a wage that the ?Magnificent Mr. Schwarzenegger? would not even pick his nose to acquire!

But hey, there is always an upside to every sad scenario! Maybe we can dope-up [PC, LSD, and Benzilates perhaps] our seniors and our sick, place a rifle in their hands, and then send them out into combat in some future war within the Middle or Far East!

Now just think of the fortune that some enterprising corporation could rake in by supplying body bags for our decrepit old carcasses? And with our advanced age, should we survive, there would be no future Veteran's benefits to worry about!

Of course, should this too ever become overly costly, or politically embarrassing to some in power, they could always grind up us old codgers up [like in the old Sci-Fi movie], and feed us to the chickens [foreign chickens that is]!

It seems to me that the "terminator" was elected on popularity and not professionalism. Sounds like "it might be a tumor" that needs to be removed. All it takes is one vote.
