Default Nickel Mine, PA. Amish shooting

Roy went to an Amish 1 through 8 th grade school and killed 6 kids.
Roy , most likely a local guy, with maybe some in-breading problems, used a hunting rifle, what ever that is.
At least good old Roy was gunned down where he stood.
Those Gremans have to be going through there own little Hell.

The Amish have never hurt anyone, they are a God fearing, hard working people. What a idiot this guy was killing young girls. You know the Amish are forgiving people they will probably pray for the guy who murdered these young girls and ask God for mercy on his soul. I hope he rots in hell, that is where he belongs.

Ya know - I wish this guy would have shot himself instead of these kids - who never done him any wrong. Snuffed out their lives like nothing. One sick puppy for sure. Not playing wth a full deck.

My sorrow is for their familes and those who are stuggling to pull through. Must be an absolute nightmare for the famlies trying to figure out - WHY?

Awful tragedy. At least there is a positive witness coming out of it.

Exactly T. J. Mercer. What a wonderful example of the love Christianity is supposed to be about.

Then you have the worst of "witness," those nutjob church-members from Kansas, who were going to protest the funerals. Do you know what their signs were going to say? "Your daughters were whores," and "Your daughters are burning in He11." Could Christianity have a worse witness than those people?

Fanatics and zealots ruin the reputation of all religions.

This is the same lady and church (Westboro Baptist) that goes around and protests at soldiers funerals. As far from a Christian example as I can think of right now. Thankfully, people like her are few and far between in "Christianity."

God bless the families of the shooting victims.

So I posted this on the Fox Disappointment thread, but I thought it was worth sharing for those ignoring that thread.

The Amish women, according to their customs, had to prepare their daughters for burial. No morticians, no funeral homes.
Execution style shootings.
These women.
Their own daughters.

And yet, they have invited the family of the killer to attend one of the services as a sign of forgiveness.

My deepest respect for the Amish, especially the Amish mothers.

I stand in awe of theAmish families that have experienced this horrendous event. Their immediate response of true forgiveness makes me feel a long way from where I should be as a Christian. It's reported that they not only forgave the shooter but attended his funeral and invited his widow to attend the funeral of their children. They believe the purpose of this act was to allow them to show the world the love and forgiveness that is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. The courage of the Mothers attending to the preparations of their daughters for burial knowing they had gunshot wounds to the head just leaves me at a loss to find the words to describe my feelings of respect for them.A man in his forties raised in their community but left as an adult was asked to describe them in one word. The word he used was peace.Surely the ability to forgive without reservation is a catalyst to the peace that emanates from these quiet, gentle people.

Ron,

We don'tfind Him, Hefinds us and calls us.

Although he comes to find us the Lord Jesus Christ will never force his way into our life, it's our choice to open the door or turn him away.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20
