The Air Force has remained tight-lipped about the competition since naming Boeing as the winner on Feb. 24. The deal signed Wednesday includes 18 aircraft to be delivered by 2017 for a total price of $3.5 billion. It’s the first installment of a 179-plane order that could exceed $30 billion over time.
