Pay Raise
Looks like the active duty guys and gals are going to et a 3.5% pay raise across the board. There is also a provison that their off base housing costs will be based on the state they are in, and the cost of housing in that area. No more out of pocket costs. Retirees, VA, ans Social Security is 2.7% increase.

That 2.7% for retirees is better then most of the pay raises from 1993-2000 that I received on Active Duty. Ole' Bill C was busy cutting the budget and spending that peace dividend and pay raises for GI's weren't in the mix. I remember Retirees and Annuitants didn't get a COLA a couple of years during Clinton either.I still say that Peace Dividend was way too expensive in the long run. 3000 lives at the World Trade Center, some more at the Pentagon, then there's the USS Cole, a few Embassy's and some other sacrifices we the people made for Clintons' Peace Dividend. I am glad our men and women in uniform are getting some better pay raises finally.
