Gimpy's been talkin' about me....
Funny thing happened on the way to the forum.I should sayitwas after the forum when c-span was taking calls for comments on opening night of the Republican Convention....
A young man called in and concluded after observing the evenings activities that the Republican party had been taken over by the rightwing neocons. OH MY GOSH says I. Gimpy has been talkingabout me all this time and I thought he was talkingabout jackbooted thugs that were ready to knock down doors and beat me with a night stick. The evening was filled with tributes to the military, to the families of 9-11-01, the first responders of that day, police and fire department, great tributes to the American Spirit from Senator McCain and RudyGiuliani, a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace, and a closing prayer by Max Lucado. Not to mentionan immediate reprimand to a few tackydelegates that showed up with purple bandaids with hearts on them. They were told to remove them posthaste. Shades ofRevelation! That is what Gimpy means when he talks about neocons. Someone that respects our military, believes in the American Spirit, the power of prayer, andneverappreciates tacky. Now that the definition has been made clear there is not for me to do but own the title. Your happy little neocon, Arrow>>>>>>>>

Sis
Loved your accurate and loving description of last night's doin's in the Big Apple! And yes, you may fall into that category of being a "Neocon," but I on the other hand, cannot qualify due to being chronologically challenged. Been doing the Conservative thing since way backin Goldwater's run at the brass ring.
What I found truly amazing about last night's celebration was the frequent and unabashedly proud mention of Our Lord. It was also a celebration of faith, of patriotism, of service, and of sacrifice. My bride and I sat there, frequently wiping a tear away, listening to really good news, well delivered, and well received. I had never heard "Amazing Grace" sung with such passion and beauty! My bet is that the doin's will only get better each night!

Evil, evil stuff I say and I?m surprised the righteous didn?t block the proceedings end to end except for Dr. Armandingo Moore?s wonderful cameo appearance. I will have to monitor these evil doings again and duly report my findings to the Court Roos so that appropriate steps can be taken to silence such insolence. Till then, all smiling is cancelled forthwith. No smiling, anyone. Got it?

Repent Sis, repent....
Forget therefore the things of youth; freedom, tuna, Vietnam and Taiwan and let not the times of sand get in your lunch and therein rejoice that you and your dog will be getting no cheese.
Remember always to walk softly amid the deepening gloom but take heart in the proposed brighter day that comeith with the anointed Nantucket one that blows a hollow and tepid wind from the east. Be always mindful to staple, spindle, fold or mutilate as that is sign of impending rise of a social order. And find solace that you may not be ignored and found unworthy of time spent. Tiz a brighter day ahead and you know what to do now. Relent and repent, do it today before it?s too late and the vile winds are vested upon you. Scamp
