London riots: Nearly 900 charged

According to a report from BBC News, two cash tills believed to have been taken from a north London shop during the recent riots were among the things recovered by police during raids.
The tills, knives and a sat-nav were found by Metropolitan Police on the Denton Estate in Camden. The report states that officers also found a Bvlgari ring in Notting Hill, which is believed to be stolen from a restaurant patron.
892 people have been charged over the riots which began on August 6 in Tottenham according the BBC. During the search of the Denton Estate and Queens Crescent officers also found 14 knives, crowbars, cannabis, metal chains, car keys, a mobile phone and a CS gas canister.
The police told BBC News that the recovered cash registers were looted from Evans Cycle Shop in Chalk Farm Road on the night of August 8.
Det Ch Insp Eric Phelps said the seized knives may have been used as lethal weapons. Metal detectors were used by police during the 10-hour-long search in Camden in which flower beds and grounds were dug up.
