Default David Eason

Looks as if we may have crossed paths. At a time I did a lot of work on paper mill disk pulp grinders, especially those made by Sprout-Brower but others as well.
My area of interest was grinding plate positioning and efforts to avoid plate clash and thus prolong grinding plate life. In this project I passed through Pennsylvania, Georgia, the Pacific Northwest and Louisiana. Scary, scary machines for sure but infinitely better than the former ?black liquor? soaking ponds. As well, I assisted on paper mill rolling equipment study and that was extremely interesting.

These days, now that I?m not so brave anymore, I mostly hang out with Grid turbo-generator sets but have worked some combined cycle/co-generation power generation sets in paper plants, etc.

Congratulations on your selection as Patriot of the Month.

Thumbs up CONGRATULATIONS, DAVID

This is an EXCELLENT choice for this month's Patriot Of The Month. Most of us "old members" on this site has known David for a few years now, from other forums. Because of his genuine interest in who we are, where we've been, what we experienced, our well-being today, and his obvious respect for us, he has always been one of the non-vets that we consider one of us.

David has been in contact with several of us, including myself, away from the computer numerous times. For example, he recorded the WHOLE HBO series, "Band Of Brothers," for me when he found out that I didn't have HBO. I received a beautiful, custom made card from David and his wife, thanking me for my service, for Veteran's Day. He says that he doesn't like to brag on himself, and that's because he is too much of a gentleman, but this is the kind of man that David Eason is. Once again I say, "EXCELLENT CHOICE."

Default Refiners

Scamp,
Thanks for the welcome. We may have crossed paths. We have some Sprout-Bower refiners and some Jordan refiners. Maybe we can talk some papermill talk on a pm some time.

Tom,
You are making me blush. I usually have to pay for compliments like that.

I can't think of a better person for Patriot of the Month. What you have done for me personally I will never forget. I have you CD ready to send. I wanted to write a little introduction about it and have done that so I will try to get it in the mail tomorrow or the next. Sorry it has taken so long. I am about as organized as a herd of bobcats.

Thumbs up

Chillidog,

A wonderful choice.
We have the largest and newest papermill in the state of Washington, in Newport, WA. 41 miles North of Spokane.

Those new ones don't even stink. If you are working in one of those old ones, it must stink.
