Dry Cities/Counties
I dont think this has been brought up before:
But how many of you live in a town/city/county that dont sell Alcohol. whiskey/beer/wine.?? Where I use to live the stores werent there. BUT, only a 20 minute drive in any given direction, there is all kinds of them. Wouldnt it be better for the town, city, county to sell it also to rake in the revenues? Or the bad part, some drunk, has to have another beer and goes 20 minutes to get some more and have a terrible wreck. Think about it, Stats show that most accidents happen within 15 minutes from your home. But there is also the DD ( designated Driver, but where the cities that are dry that DD stands for Drunk Driver. enough..........

Around these parts the booze flows 24/7. Anytime day or night folks can bee seen bellied up to the bar and slamming them back. We also have real tough DUI laws and includes a heavy fine plus a couple of days in the slam or a couple of days of community service. In Reno, the community service is a requirement and the inmates have to wear striped prison outfits while they are picking up refuse along the highway. That?s just plane humiliating in my opinion. But I suppose it?s better to be embarrassed that be dead or kill someone. While living in eastern Tennessee I noted that they have all manner of blue laws and hard booze can only be purchased in a package store and no alcohol of any description can be purchased before noon on Sunday.

I live in a dry county (Pike), but liquor is allowed inside the Pikeville town limits - so I guess that makes it moist.
Dry is good, otherwise, the bootleggers would have no reason to make that superior shine.

Indiana no booze is sold on Sundays. In Illinois on Sunday no booze until after 12 Noon. It's amazing how strange the laws are on this subject - but you 'd have to look up the original law to find out how it came about and why?
