Default Did you know.....?

The 14-inch guns from the #2 turret of the USS Arizona (BB-39, sunk at Pearl Harbor) were salvaged and later installed aboard the battleship USS Nevada (BB-36) in the fall of 1944. Nevada then used those guns against the Japanese during the invasions Okinawa and Iwo Jima.

Default No I didn't - I do like the payback

A little more history that seems to have been overlooked by many. Thanks

It gives some closure, doesn't it?

I've always regretted that Arizona was denied the opportunity to bring her big rifles to bear against the enemy during the war.

I like to think that Nevada's crew had some unseen gunners helping them at Okinawa and Iwo.

Default It is also my understanding

that the BB California was the last BB to fight in a ship to ship naval battle. It sunk, I think, a Japenese BB that had been used at Pearl, or something like that. Also good karma payback.
