Smile New Home Security System,...

...

...Just installed a new securtiy system, or should I say, unlocked the previous ones already in place, few pictures of the latest implements of personal home securtiy, sorry, not enough space for the little trinkets that go inside, and travel out the forward end @ a high rate of speed. :-),...

...Have taken a few pic's of the 1917 Enfield my Father gave me, including the original "gun cleaning kit" in the stock, not sure if the sling is original, but I can live with it if it isn't,...

...Like the tree stand in the living room,...

...Hey, ya never know, right?

That tree stand puts you in range of the parrot in the cage. And it looks like no more three pointers from the front door any more.

The Christmas decorations have to come down... or you setting up for a Hawaiian luau?

Curtis,

That's a nice 1917.

Back in the 50s and 60s thousands of the 1917 Enfields had those rear sight "ears" ground off when they were sporterized.

Consequently, unaltered original 1917 Enfields are getting hard to find. It's more valuable if (like yours) original and unmodified.

When I was younger, I found out (the hard way) that a wall-hanging gun rack is strictly for the convenience of burglars and people who come into your home who can't keep their mouths shut.

The sling on your Enfield appears to be a U.S. M1907 (leather 1 1/4") which is correct for your rifle.

It is, however, assembled wrong. The "hooks" should be to the outside and pointing forward, like this:

Your sling looks a little "thirsty"...like it wants a "drink" of Neetsfoot oil.

Damn!!! That's the same security system I installed in my truck for April along with the bomb detection device.
Steve's right, a display like that is an invitation for all unwanted gun collectors.
