This helicopter appears to be full of beer. I know my father enjoyed beer. I thought it would be funny if the army had a copter to just make beer-runs. It appears they did. I wondered if the troops had a special name for it.
My father recently passed away and I am in the process of scanning, enlarging and editing a large number of slides to distribute amoung our family. This was amoung them the ones labeled, Vietnam. I'd be happy to share more. As far as the picture of the left, sure, it is one of my favorites. Image redone below |

Is anyone else having trouble opening the pics? My computer has been acting up and am not sure if it is just me.

No photo
Like the other guys, I can't open the "x in a square" where the photo should be.
Under the heading of history, our company chipped in and purchased a pallet of beer which was deliver (usually) every Tuesday. It was almost always slung loaded on a Chinook. We used lots of bullets and fuel and stuff, so the resupply was just part of the war. Having a chopper full of beer was not that unusual. While in choppers we would resupply the group of folks that lived on top of the Black Virgin Mt. with beer at least twice a month. I guess the 25th Division had a better than most supply system. Stay healthy, Andy |

I remember we'd get beer and soda by the case seemly when ever we wanted prior to " Tet 68 " After " Tet 68 " we were not allowed to have beer in the bush at all. Our Beer runs usually came out on slicks, there were even times we actually got ice cream in the bush. Had to be eaten right away and sure was a rare treat. A case of beer or soda was $ 2.40 MPC.

That's odd because I can see the images. I have downsizes them greatly and here is the second attempt.
