You might want to include the families of the Rangers and others lost in Somalia, another example of Bill Clinton's splendid foreign policy. Ever heard of "Blackhawk Down"?

Originally posted by WateringHole ... "As I said before SuperScout, my remark about Africa got steered in the wrong direction. My intentions wasn't to make the USA look as racist. What I was trying to point out is the explaination the White House gave us for invading Iraq sounded to me like it wasn't the real reason."

Well that's exactly how I read this;

"The USA always took the stand "hey, go ahead and kill all the Black People you want, we don't care, that's not our concern". Why hecks, these characters in Africa would make the Klan look like they're nothing but a bunch of boy scouts when it comes to killing Black Poeple."

Bill

Maybe I used the wrong words to express myself in other messages I posted. I think it would have been better if I would have said "the United States didn't take any action towards those butcher/dictators when they resorted to genocide as a means of trimming down their country's population".

Man this hitting people where it hurts. Somehow we lost track of the original post about the active duty people who are aginst the war in Iraq. After the Tet offensive in 1968 I somewhat knew we wouldn't win in Vietnam, but I went back for a second and third tour anyway. I never lost faith in my comrades, nor did I undermine their efforts. To me that is what these active duty protesters are doing. Super Scout made a post about some of these types are going to make up stories about there service, I agree with him, I like the way Super Scout put that post.

Thanks for the compliment! I tries to writes 'em as I sees 'em.

Now, I must take slight exception to your assessment of post-Tet '68. We did not lose the war. Veracity of that statement can be checked against the words and writing of major North Vietnamese generals. The gutless press, starting with Walter Cronkite, coupled with the very active American Communist party, working hand-in-glove with other socialist/leftists organizations, are the major culprits in the loss of the South to the re-invasion by the North aggressors. We slaughtered the equivalent of 12 divisions of VC and NVA during Tet.

And you have nailed directly: it is the same variety of treasonous scum that sold us out during Vietnam war days that is working against my sons and the children of other veterans today.

Here's some more stuff to validate my earlier post:

?As of this writing 2,802 young Americans have been killed during three and a half years of war in Iraq. That?s roughly the same number killed at Iwo Jima during the first three and a half days of fighting against the Japanese. Every life lost was precious and every loss grievous to those who loved them. Unfortunately, our media intends to use every one of those killed to make their point. It?s a lesson they learned in Vietnam. On Feb. 27, 1968, after a month of brutal fighting and daily images of U.S. casualties on American television, Walter Cronkite, then the host of the CBS Evening News, proclaimed that the Tet Offensive had proven to him that the Vietnam War was no longer winnable... It didn?t matter that Tet had been a decisive victory for the United States and South Vietnam. Today?s potentates of the press are trying to deliver the same message: that Iraq, like Vietnam, is un-winnable. One television network has gone so far as to broadcast images of U.S. troops being killed by terrorists?making Iraq the first war where Americans get their news from the enemy. The war in Vietnam wasn?t lost during ?Tet 68? no matter what Cronkite said. Rather, it was lost in the pages of America?s newspapers, on our televisions, our college campuses?and eventually in the corridors of power in Washington. We need to pray that this war isn?t lost the same way.? ?Oliver North
