Default New Guy - question on Eagle Order

Hi,

Found this site researching a Grand Cross of the German Eagle Order. Stumbled on a link here which showed a Grand Cross which had distinct differences from the standard Godet piece most often seen. Specifically, the eagle's wings & head appear very different from the Godet. It appears more of an 'early' eagle than the more army eagle of the Godet.

The reason for my research (and thus finding this site) is that I own a version of the aforementioned Eagle Order having the same features as the one posted on this site. Another oddity of mine is that, while standard Godet specs call for a 91mm Star, mine measures 93.85 high by 93.85 wide. One would assume any 'casting' (I'm guessing) would be smaller than that from which it was made from. Also the cross 'rattles' a bit where the rivets have become loose over the years. I'm not sure if repros 'cast' separate pieces & subsequently riveted them together...

Anyway, I'm hoping someone might provide some data on the Star that's featured on this site.

Thanx in advance. Rick C.
