Default Graduation Day

The End Of Another Era

Went down to Ft Ord this last weekend to see my son Daniel graduate--no, not from Basic like yours truly did just a couple blocks from there but from Cal State University Monterey Bay which now occupies Ft Ord.
You can't guess how much this meant to me--the end of a long goal. When my son was born I promised myself I'd support him all the way through college and with no college debt at all.
Its been a long hard grind, including a lot more Fatherhood-In-Action than I thought it would.
but it happened, finally. Do you know what this means?? No more Child Support!! No more College Support!! Just: ME SUPPORT!!
YIPPPPEEEEE!!!! All my $$$$ are my own again!!

I'll drink to that, even if it is just Diet Pepsi
Happy Graduation Day to all
Stay good
James

PS : I'm standing in a hole in this picture

Default 3 Ft Ord Grads

It's interesting the way fate takes some times, Or coincidence. And also how much Ft Ord played in the life of Californians
here's 3 graduates of ft Ord from different eras
Dad: Charles : graduated from Basic Ft Ord 1943 (graduate Univ CAl Berkeley 1947(
Self: Graduated from Basic, Infantry AIT Ft Ord 1966(graduated Cal State U Chico 1987)
Son: Daniel: Graduated from Cal State Univ Monterey Bay (Ft Ord 2005)

The reason they didn't call it Cal State University Ft Ord is because they didn't want the initials CSUFO

Stay good, all
James

PS I'm standing in the same hole here.

What a great feeling DAD! That's a great 3 generation picture. Hey, even your dad's taller than you! I believe that button is bursting with pride......you've all three earned it.

A big ABU! to you and your family.

Today it isn't easy to get them in school let alone pay for it you did a good thing. I'm sure this education will go along way in his life. Nice job seeing it through I know how hard it had to be on you getting all these expenses (and the yearly figures many are not aware of) so now you can save for your retirement - if you ever can now.

Swell pictures a a very proud family to boot!
