Cool 'Attacks violation of basic human rights'

ISLAMABAD - Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights Saturday condemned drone attacks inside Pakistan and observed that the attacks, besides being a sheer violation of territorial sovereignty of Pakistan, often resulted in killing of innocent women and children. The committee demanded immediate halt to the aerial strikes on Pakistani soil.

The committee denounced the US missile strikes as gross violation of human rights, territorial integrity, political independence, and sovereignty of the country.

Fateha was also offered for those who were killed in a drone attack in Ladha on Saturday.

The meeting also directed DIG Police, Naseerabad, to thoroughly probe into the incident of burying five women alive and bring the culprits to justice.

The meeting presided over by Senator SM Zafar here at Parliament House directed the DIG Police, district Naseerabad, Balochistan, to submit a detailed report in that connection to the committee.

The committee condemned the incident in strong words and observed that such incidents were not only violating the basic human rights but also projecting a bad image of Islam and Pakistan. It also directed the concerned officials for taking strict administrative actions to discourage such events in future. The committee also called for a proper mechanism to check recurrence of similar incidents. The body also called for measures to create awareness among the masses against the horrific anti-human honour killings.

The meeting also deplored over anti-human rituals like ‘Swara’, ‘Wani’ and ‘Karokari’ and called for permanently eliminating the trends.

If it is OK to bomb Pakistan to kill terrorists now that Obama is president as reported by AP, they forgot to tell pakistani news.
