Terrorism, The Media And Experts

Since this war on terrorism ended (?) in May of this year , a large part of the action has been undertaken by the meddling media , a never-ending stream of pseudo experts, and of course, the self-feeding political machinery!

Behind this feeding frenzy, resides that god almighty - Wall Street , to whom Casualty Figures have been converted to dollars and political advantage. And what talk of concern that does manage to extricate itself from the ?Swamp of Washington?, is usually fueled by politics personified! (opinion)

As it was in Gulf War I, the media and government has taken on the role of ?Misinformation & Instigation Minister?, and those eternal fools who declare loudly that ?All?s Well on The Eastern Front?, have again removed their tattered banners of protest from their sewer-pipes of outrage, and are parading them proudly before a world that derives solace from all of this internal division!

?How in the Hell did we ever fight wars or insure peace before the matters of survival took a backseat to avarice and personal gain??

[i]Our military is out there in Harm?s Way, our economy is still the shits, and ?Wanabe Miracle Workers and office seekers are oozing forth upon the scene to declare their bogus panaceas for all that ails us! And like a flock of lemmings, many still buy into the bullshit that oozes from the pores of politics, when in reality, most of it is fluff!

Today we re-built a sewer system in Iraq, and Americans died!

Today we put out an oil well fire in Iraq, and Americans died!

Today we built a hospital for the Iraqis, and Americans died!

Tomorrow - Hundred of Billion of Dollars later, we will leave this moral graveyard (Iraq), hand over a rebuilt country to the United Nations and the entrepreneurs, await the rise of yet another neo Hitler or Hussein, and still Americans die!

Solutions (REAL SOLUTIONS) seem to be in short supply, but not the endless (often-faulty) rhetoric of politics! And this, while our military continues to shoulder the load, shed the blood, and dedicate their existence! Now wouldn?t it be grand if more in government would carry their fair share of the burden, deal in truth, and recognize their obligations to our military rank and file? But no, they opt instead, to continually engage in never-ending banter, self-justification, finger pointing, and stumbling!

But what the hell, when this war(s) finally does slip into the pages of history, and the politicians all retire in style to their estates and ranches, at least our returning (honorable) warriors will be equipped and further hardened to take on yet another battle - this one against the $60 Billion (plus) Dollar a year Veterans Administration!

This ?Adversarial Paternalistic VA? is an organization that, in my opinion, all too often forgets its obligations to its benefactors, almost as quickly as the Middle East forgets theirs!
