Angry Gunmen Attack Contractors

Gunmen Attack Contractors on La. Bridge
Sep 04 7:08 PM US/Eastern

NEW ORLEANS

Police shot and killed at least five people Sunday after gunmen opened fire on a group of contractors traveling across a bridge on their way to make repairs, authorities said.

Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said police shot at eight people carrying guns, killing five or six.

Fourteen contractors were traveling across the Danziger Bridge under police escort when they came under fire, said John Hall, a spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers.

They were on their way to launch barges into Lake Pontchartrain to help plug the breach in the 17th Street Canal, Hall said.

None of the contractors was killed, Hall said.

The bridge spans a canal connecting Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.

No other details were immediately available.

Thumbs up

Glad to see it was the good guys that drew first blood. You have to wonder about people that would like to prolong the misery and devastation down there. These people were nothing more than pus pockets on the ass of society and the world is better off without them.

Sorry everyone,

But these are poor people that America has abandoned. They had every right to shoot at people that were just trying to make their lives better. To think otherwise is racist and against the poor of America who are pawns of an unjust capitalist system that is just trying to keep these poor freedom fighters down. Shame on y'all!

Could it be the gunman are also contractors of a different sort protecting drugs that can't be moved and trying to keep control of the ground in New Orleans.Just a thought I had when I saw DEA rolling in today.

There is probably a lot of that Sis, plus some aggressive turf grabs and possibly looking for opportunities to be bought off. And most likely there are pockets of hostages being held for ransom that no one even knows about yet. As soon as everyone is evacuated that can be found, I think there needs to be a clearing operation and some pressing hard until the last sewer rats give up or are taken down. And Packo, I wouldn?t be a bit surprised to see the perps run the blood banner up. Lawlessness and anarchy needs a justification and cause, and that is the specialty of all the Marx brothers and sisters. If they aren?t there yet, they are probably on the way.
