What Does The New Year Hold?

Day 1 of 365, - News Year's Resolutions still in tact (for the most part), a bright new hope in sight for the many days to come, and of course, a total denial of last year's failures and screw-ups! "NOW WHERE HAVE WE HEARD ALL OF THIS BEFORE?"

It should sound very familiar you know, as this is a similar scenario to that which occurred last year, on this very date to be exact, and each and every New Year prior to that!

"So what does this New Year hold in store for you and the world in general?" Will Mother Nature kick us in the teeth again? Will yet another war or two putrefy the international scene? Will greed and aversity redundantly be the order of the day? ? And most of all, will we even survive to witness yet another closure to another year gone bad?

With the recent wakeup call in Indonesia, one has to wonder what other (not so) little surprises ?Old Mom (Nature)? has in store for us? More monumental quakes and tsunamis perhaps? Or could that ocean of molten magma that bubbles not far below the Earth?s crust, erupt anew and flood vast portions of the planet with a sea of red-hot death.

Maybe all of that garbage floating around in space (asteroids, meteors, and comets alike) will finally plunge to Earth and put an end to the farce? ?After all, if mankind will not go to Hades, then maybe Hell will come to mankind!??

?Hey, we can always look upon the bright side of the coin and fantasize a bit!? Maybe we will win a lottery, the war in the Middle East will end, or we will find a cure for some deadly disease that plagues humanity!??

And while we are all dreaming the impossible dream, maybe (this year) all politicians will keep their promises and turn honest, big business will begin to think of us all as their benefactors and not just targets, some foreign aid will be replaced with domestic concerns, the VA will finally honor their mandate to all honorable veterans, and international sanity will (at last) rule the roost!

"And now, we can all go back to sleep and dream some more splendid garbage!!?
