Reading this I couldn't help but remember sitting graveshift babysitting aeroplanes at Dover and the 21st AF operator out of Magoo would bleed over onto our radios. All we would hear in that "Operator" nasal New Jersey voice was, "21st, 21st. Operator how may I help you. This line is secured." Uh yeah right, that's why we could all here her. She sounded like a parrot. To make matters worse none of us could transmit anything until she cleared the line nor could she hear us. We usually had to call the tower who would call up to NJ and tell her to clear the line.

Sorry about that guys. I just changed it to dmy yesterday to follow the rest of the site better and forgot to put a post up about it
