Those Killed In Mc-130 Crash

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INDENTIFIES THOSE KILLED IN MC-130 CRASH
The Department of Defense announced today the identities of three servicemembers killed in yesterday's crash of a U.S. Air Force MC-130H in the Paktika province of Afghanistan. Killed were:

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Sean M. Corlew, 37, of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Anissa A. Shero, 31, of Grafton, W.Va.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Peter P. Tycz II, 32, of Tonawanda, N.Y.

Corlew and Shero were assigned to the Air Force's 16th Special
Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Tycz was assigned to
the Army's 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, NC.

Shero was the second woman among more than 30 U.S. troops who have been killed in direct combat or died in accidents in and around Afghanistan in support of the U.S.-led war against al Qaeda militants and Taliban fighters.

The first female casualty was one of seven Marine Corps crew members of a KC-130 refueling aircraft that crashed in Pakistan on January 9.

I was working here in my command post in Uzbekistan supporting OEF when I heard about this incident. I dont personally know any of the 3 that were killed in the crash but I feel the pain of their loss. I've been here since February, and have seen more than I want of unfortunate incidents like this. I'm proud of them, and I will remember what they did to defend freedom forever. They paid the ultimate price while defending their country in a far away and desolate land. I will be sad, but I'll smile because they made a difference.

My Marines cousin was one of those he left behind a wife and 5 children...it was a very sad situation
