Question SAN DIEGO v IRAQ

I heard someone say yesterday that: ?Why don?t they take part of that $87 Billion earmarked for those poor (?) Iraqis, and use it instead to assist and rebuild a fire-ravished San Diego County? After all, these are our true brothers and sisters, our friends, neighbors and our countrymen!!"

Of course, San Diego County is not sitting on hundreds of billion$ of dollars in Texas Tea (oil), but neither have the San Diego-ites been attempting to murder U.S. Servicemen and Woman! As a matter of fact, many of these same dedicated servicemen, reside right here in the Southland, when not far away, helping to keep someone else?s nation secure that is! And for the record, some of these folks too, lost everything that they owned in this ?Firestorm From Hell!?

But alas, there is little political luster to be had in rebuilding domestic assets!? Unless of course, it is while landing upon the deck of an aircraft carrier steaming into San Diego Bay! ?These carriers do make for excellent political landing pads, do they not??

And just how far would part of that $87 Billion Dollars go in rebuilding, not a mosque or two, or oil wells that the Iraqis themselves destroyed in their fits of insanity, but rather, our own infrastructure - the 3800 homes that were gutted by flames, the shattered lives of kids who may themselves, someday be called upon to fight in foreign wars , or the nearly 800,000 acres of ?All-American Land? that was decimated by savage flames! And the last that I heard, the possibility exists that at least part of these fires may have been set by terrorist-kin of the very same people that we now seek to rebuild!? (opinion)

Oh well - it?s all academic at this point, as none of that ?Government-Gifted, Iraq-Bound Billions? will ever find its way into a mere American rebuilding project, not overseen and capitalized upon by friends of the politically powerful!?

And hey, directing any part of that $87,000,000,000 (?) into San Diego County, or any other American need for that mater, is now politically incorrect within the inner-sanctums of power-politics! ?There are no medals awarded for doing the right thing in government or it?s ever obedient, lap-dog bureaucracies these days!!?

Of course, the idea of helping our own first (if ever), will get no further off of the ground than did those close-in air (fire-fighting) assets (tankers & bucket-carrying choppers), during the first few days of our recent fire-storms! (opinion) ?We shall, however, not forget - or will we?!

?WE SHALL SEE, WHAT WE SHALL SEE!??
