Question about DD-214
I am being asked by a potential employer for a "member-4" copy of my DD-214.
I separated in 1970 and the only DD-214 I have (or have ever heard of) is the single-page DD-214 that I was given upon discharge. I am being told that this is a "member-1" copy. What do I need, and where do I get it? Thanks! Steve / 82Rigger |

Apparently, DD 214's come in a variety of copies. From my enlisted time, I still have copy 1, but from officer time, I have a copy numbered 2. Why can't the potential employer just be satisfied with a copy of whatever you give him? The member 4 copy is sometime all that was given to a ETS'ing soldier, but a copy of either numbered form should be more than adequate. It would be for me, and it was all I submitted for membership in the VVA. Hope this helps! IF not, check out the VVA.org website for links to official records places.
