Default Whats up with this?

They have a "PTSD vet kills wife" story going on up here in Eugene--seems a little far fetched to me.
(see: http://www.registerguard.com/csp/cms...47&sid=4&fid=2 )

The guy had his estranged wife tied up with her arms behind her. When the police knocked on the door, responding to a prior calll for help from her, he blew her away with a shotgun, then came to the door and surrendered.

Here's the line that gets me:
"....Supanchick acted “on autopilot” when he killed Kelly Supanchick with four blasts from a 12-gauge shotgun as she sat, her hands bound behind her, on a bed in her rented duplex in the 400 block of Morningside Drive in Eugene, Vogt told the jury.

In his six-year military career, Supanchick had been “exquisitely trained to take lives on the battlefield,” Vogt said. Supanchick killed his estranged wife using a military drill in which shots are administered consecutively to the body and to the head at close range...."

Now I peeled my share of spuds in the infantry and what I want to know, is: what military drill involves shots being administered consecutively to the body and head at close range?? I mean, thats how you MURDER someone, nemmine being in the military. I never heard of a military drill like this.

and whats the point of shooting them inthe body and then in the head? To draw it out? Is this one of the new republican interogation techniques we've heard so much about? Also: "exquisitely trained?? As I said, I spent a few days in the infantry and exqusite is about the last word I'd apply to their training.

I put this down as a coldblooded murder, planned in advance and the guy trying to PTSD his way out of it. Murder is murder.

Stay good,all
James

James it is cold blooded murder, You have some reporter with a good vocabulary and he is painting a vivid picture for his readers. These type of headline grabbers don't care if they mix truth with fiction as long as they get a by line. Thats why I hate the media

No, actually I think its the lawyer who's trying to blow smoke up the jury's ass--its what they get paid to do. The reporter is just writing down what the lawyer said. The lawyer is trying to muddy the waters, get sympathy for what amounts to a cold hearted murder. Stay good

Have to sort-of agree with Deadly-D.
"A snake in the grass (plus fools comparing shotgun murder to:
'Republican torture')" are lower (more devious also) than lawyers, for sure.

Such senseless fools must no doubt be Devout Democrat Supremacist Hacks.

the prosecution would call me as an expert witness. It's bullshit. Even though we're old guys....infantry and marksmenship hasn't changed that much. Plus, it doesn't say this asshole was EVER in combat, just that he learned the method in "training". I could tear this whole thing apart. You've hit the nail on the head James, it's the lawyer's job to get him off and any bullshit to cause 1 juror to say "resonable doubt" is his plan. Always remember, Prosecution must convince 12....defense, 1. Oh, and any Republicans I know wouldn't use that stupid method....we're all good at one shot, one kill. Just ask Gore and Kerry.

Waterboarding works better, eh? Well, maybe youre right, but I wouldn't say you brought Gore and Kerry down with one shot exactly . Those wacky Republicans--you never know what theyre going to come up with next! ;-)

Stay good
James

PS--you guys aren't going to start the"Vote for a Vietnam Veteran" thing for McCain are you? Not affter what you did to Gore and Kerry!
