Trump Still Building The Border Wall

Sept. 28, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—In spite of Covid-19, the Trump administration is on track to hit its goal of building 450 miles of border wall by the end of this year. Currently, crews have built 341 miles and are averaging more than a mile-a-day of new wall. To date, they have used 509,000 tons of steel and 732,000 cubic yards of concrete to construct the wall.

Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government, issued the following statement in reaction to the update:

“President Donald Trump continues to keep promises as 341 miles of new border security wall have been put up with the past three months averaging more than a mile a day. In spite of constant fighting with Democrats who opposed this basic measure, the Trump administration is on pace to hit its goal of building 450 miles of wall by the end of the year.

“Protecting America from illegal immigration, the free flow of drugs across the border, and the national security threats of the open border has been a priority which President Trump has fought tooth and nail to achieve. The President knows that you cannot have a secure America without a secure border and has expended massive amounts of political capital to keep this promise. No one can doubt that this President has been resolute in his determination to stop the flow of illegal traffic across our border, the same cannot be said of Joe Biden.

“The Obama-Biden administration built the cages and put children in them along the southern border. The Obama-Biden administration oversaw and encouraged the flooding of our southern border with illegal immigrants. The Obama-Biden administration gave lip-service to southern border security while allowing the few barriers along the border to fall into disrepair. President Trump has not only been busy building the wall, but because Mexico has begun cooperating with us and is now turning back illegal entrants, there has been a significant drop in the numbers of illegal entrants into our country.”

“What’s more, President Trump has cracked down on those who have used the legal VISA provisions under law to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor, in many cases forcing the displaced Americans to train their replacements.”

If you lived by the international border - you will understand why we need this wall. The border patrol have found illegals dead and naked. When they get hot - they start taking off their clothes. Where we live - it can be very dangerous and deadly.

We live one mile from the international border with mexico. We have had illegals come to our door looking for help. We call the border patrol.

Here in California or anywhere alone the border - if you transport an illegal and get stopped - you can go to jail and lose your car. Also - the minute an illegal crosses the border - they get your tax dollars - welfare - Med-I-Cal as well as Social Security. The Welfare/Social Security tells Americans when they apply for assistance - the American is told "They Are Of The Wrong Nationality". When my son applied for Social Security Disability when he was disabled after working for over 25 years that he was of the wrong nationality. That why it took him over 3 years to get Social Security Disability.

Here is California - illegals get everything that the American Citizen have problems getting and that is a fact.. California is a "Sanctuary State"

I'm for the border patrol - we've always had one. But the wall itself makes me think about the Berlin wall in Germany. Is this what we've become? Are we that insecure that we need to circumvent our entire US country? I know we've had issues with border crossings and drug cartel runners - and I think our guys have done a swell job of curtailing those events.
But a wall - it's not really a deterrent rather a symbol of insecurity. I can't help how I feel about it but that's how I see it.

Sure not all Mexican's are bad and yes they have issues but Mexico should take care of those issues - not the US.

Hardcore and two of our sons did several ride-arounds with the Border Patrol. You would not know how dangerous it is for our brave Border Patrol when they are out in the bush until you did a ride-around.

Sometimes these guys are out there in the dead of nite with no lite and no one else is around. No other Border Patrol.Sometimes they can't even get in touch with other Agents.

We know because one nite while listening to the short wave frequency [before they changed frequency] of the Border Patrol - one agent was out in the field alone and surrounded by illegals and trying to get another agent to help but could not reach anyone so we called the HQs and told them what was happening. They knew where he was.

Mrs. HC - you got a good reason to be worried - and I respect that - but wall or no wall isn't going to stop those who want in - from getting in. It's sad - that you and others have those issues and I don't blame you to want better protection. Your concerns are everyone's concerns and its a shame that you have to live with that. Let's hope the wall is the deterrent you hope it will be.

No one should have to worry about things like that - but you know more than us. Where I live they kick in the door or pull a gun or a knife and rob you or worse. We had three killed just three houses from where I live about a week ago.

The bad guys are always present with or without walls. If they want in - they sure as hell will get in. That's a pretty grim concept in America today - but it's still an issue that we all dread and fear.
