Interesting and relevant Current Events
That proposed Indian Casino you hear John McCain joining Feinstein against in the news is about 6 blocks away from where I live and my g-friend also.
It would have a HUGE impact on this town, it was one of the final straws that got me packing up the covered wagon and headin' fer Oregon. Another was a shooting nearby. People shoot each other here over minor accidents--or for nothing! What a strange life its turned out: Indians moving in and fcking up the town so I'm packing up and heading West, er North! I think I'm on the leading edge of a wave here, Californians cashing out and moving to Oregon.hope there's some investment opportunities. Thats what I was cruising the OR coast looking for.

James...would love to meet you in April, seems as though your plate is pretty full right now. I am going to make the Psyco Mountain tour and if possible the one out to Washington State later this summer. Will try to swing by your place but I will not make any promises right now, have to learn to live with this fixed income first and see where it all leads!
Congrats on the new house, she is a beauty!!! Would really like to see a gated entrance to the property with a sign saying "This is where the bear shit's in the woods!" Enjoy brother, you deserve it! Trav

Congrats James
Bring her along.
LT, Mustache Mike and I sat up late into Saturday night drinking and listening to Monty. Monty is 63 this year and with only a few exceptions has never been out of the north Georgia mountains. We laughed all night about his canoeing adventures from Ellijay to Tallapoosa Al, moonshining, running moonshine, Living in caves and a treehouse and a tee-pee stories. |

Thanks for the Congrats
But I'm still trying to force her into it (LOL!) I'm not sure exactly when or where this will take place-- circumstances beyond my control involved. I'm definitely not marrying her for money, I'll have snookered away most of her money by the time it happens.
Its just part of remodeling my life--I'm on the cusp of a new change. My life just keeps getting bigger and bigger. One of the changes I'm making is that I'm getting back into gunshooting. I didn't own guns while my son was growing up for fear he'd shoot himself or someone but he's 23 now and owns some of his own. recent events got me to thinking defensively: Hmmmmm, sure did learn some really cool skills in the Army that have completely atrophied--like, oh, say, setting up Prc25 field antennas (you can get up to 25 miles if you have enough wire) shining boots and brass, not to mention a few exotic "people skills" and, oh, just a wealth of useful items I learned in Recondo School and other places--sure did get a chance to practice them too. I won't detail them all here. Darn, I was thinking, all that useful knowledge and experience that could be put to work in turbulent times, just going to waste! I'd need to practice up some to get up to speed again, esp on the exotic people skills. Hey, whats the first thing you noticed about the property in the picture above?? Clear Fields of Fire, right??!! Its the first thing I noticed too, this will save me a lot of work. Thanks Cascade Lumber!! All those fields of fire, give me a dang good place to target practice, right from the back porch or the hot tub. Been thinking about getting one of those .50 cal sniper rifles, only for home defense, of course, and it'd be nice to be able to defend the house from 2000 yds away. DANG!! being able to spatter someone's brains from a mile away!! I could see that being useful under certain circumstances. Also thinking about suppressors--are they legal now?? I see em advertised in gun mags. An honest American citizen can probably defend his home much better with a suppressed weapons, ask me how I know this. Archery, too and crossbows--you guys know I'm a Shakespeare freak, right?? I'm setting up an archery range there too. Anyway, this will add a new dimension to Psycovets meetings there Hope you guys all come! James

Know a guy that has a 50 cal rifle. He will sell it to you. Says it knocks him back 3 feet in the prone position. You can own a suppressed weapon but it has to be registered with the ATF and you pay a fee to be legal....... or. Just got a 25 round mag for my Ruger 10/22 what a great plinking rifle !

DMZ-LT; I just got a 50 rd dbbl stack banana mag Part#13264) for my Ruger 10-22 and the company that I ordered it from (Cheaperthandirt.com) sold a good mechanical device. It fired a mixed amount of Winchester and Remington 22LR rounds with out malfunctioning once the first time I loaded it . Made by Ram Line it's great fun plinking with and it takes awhile to fire off 50 rds , I like the steel lip Butler Creek 25rd mags but the plastic lipped one I tried (MAG-413) malfunctions a few times but was cheap at 19$ btw the 50rd mag was also cheap at 29$ I remember paying nearly 50$ for a 25rd mag during the old Assault weapons/ hi-cap mag ban days Our new AG Martinez seems to think the old ban was a good idea (him being from S.Florida Dade County area) so it might be a good idea if anyone is thinking about getting some Hi-cap mags for their rifles or Pistols now is the time to stock up when the prices are reasonable . Just a thought
