Post 28 Missing Pages?

- Does anyone know what IS on those missing 28 pages?

- Does anyone know if there ever WAS anything on those 28 pages?

- If intelligence sources are being protected by redacting 28 pages from a 900 page 9/11 Terrorism report, does it make sense to publish the BLANK pages?

- Wouldn't a complete report to the American people concerning the connection between Terrorism and 9/11 INCLUDE such information as is possibly/maybe/who knows being withheld?

- WHICH government office or official would have been responsible for the decision to redact that 28 pages?

- SOMEBODY knows exactly what was or is or was not or is not on those pages, right?

- Why won't they TELL us!

Default Possible Answers

1. Do we have a need to know?

2. If we find out what's on the pages in question, can we do anything about it?

3. Will the disclosure of the the pages harm our intelligence gathering process, sources, or other infrastructure?

4. Will the publishing of the pages create more questions than the pages themselves reveal?

BOTTOM LINE: It was an editor's blunder to mention the pages, and completely stupid to include blank pages in the report that the public eventually saw. Like the news (?) story about the "yellow cake" quote in the State of the Union address, it is much ado about nothing. Shakespeare would have been proud!

In all likelihood; via reading the tealeaves next to my dual incense burner equipped guru chair, the section probably said something about the fact that the House of Saud doesn?t have its shit together at all and has two ends working against the middle. And probably went on to name some Saudi family names. The Saudis have their knickers in a knot over this so one can presume that?s what?s happening, or something along those lines. So I presume old news with some names now attached. This level of info has no business in the media circus or in the hands of the aspiring Presidential nitwits. About oil maybe, but more about the House of Saud needing to clean house, I think. But not about domestic US politics, no way.

So sure, a bit of serious information, perhaps, that has been turned into a tempest in a teapot of finger pointing and accusation. Sometimes I think we should charge admission for this dramatic matinee of irrelevant chest beating, wringing of hands, moaning, weeping, fussing and posturing.

Thanks Scamp -

Is it possible, all things considered, that the publisher of those 28 blank pages could have been so astoundingly arrogant or naive as to imagine that what is happening would not happen?

Old news for sure for those of us that care to know the news behind the news.

But wait a minute....

You don't have to do a google search to find the news behind the news. You can page back several months and findsome of the locals that hang out on this virtual corner were giving a heads up regard the House of Saud being full of Sand.

Little, Scamp, Razz, & Scout -

Okay, shouldn't our efforts then be aimed at the House of Saud?

If the guns were to be aimed thataway (our people ARE in their neighborhood don't ya know!), doesn't America have a bunch of GOOD friends in Saudi Arabia who'd hafta suffer or die too? Maybe we should just let everyone in Saudi Arabia know that we're comin' in guns blazin' next Friday, so if yer guilty stay put, everybody else leave as fast as you can?

Did we get shifted over to Iraq because somebody would not go after Saudis?

Hope nobody lets our fighters in Iraq know this... would NOT be good for morale. Would NOT be good for the current administration and any other one that had let this happen, or who might in the future either.

How 'bout we Americans just say there is not gonna be any more war that we make unless you directly attack us... and if you elect terrorist attacks, then we won't bother spending $4,000,000,000 a month to destroy your local paper tigers anymore, we'll just infiltrate your society, find out who was in charge and pull a Guns of Navaronne raid on ya... bring ya in for good ole American style justice right here in, say, the Bronx, or maybe Tupelo, or Waco, or how 'bout somewhere in the Luziana Bayou kinda dark and moist like, nasty snakes and all, fierce critters with BIG teeth who don't vote and aren't lawyers.

The House of Saud is riding a tiger of their own making and can?t get off now if they wanted to. Their funding and support of the Whabbi blood cult has turned into their hanging tree and sooner or later the entire Saudi mob will either have exiled themselves or will be date palm decorations. Some 40% of the Saudi population is now caught up in the Wahabi blood cult movement and this number is growing. In many areas the Wahabi Clerics are far more influential than Saudi princes and princettes and it appears that the circle is closing slowly.
So there is decision time coming for sure. And the big question is if we want bloodthirsty medieval religionist running the Arabian Peninsula? These religionists are big fans and supporters of Al Qaeda and the like so that is absolute trouble dead ahead and coming up fast. It?s a real good thing that the Saudis have such a miniscule Army and military capability and the US is locked in firmly through out the area. I have always thought the War on terror will lead through Riyadh and the only piece of the equation that up for grabs is who will be in charge when the US Troops roll into town. It is my belief that the House of Saud has been given time and the support necessary to clean house and the current positioning in Iraq is pivotal in keeping an eye on things and reacting if we need to. As to the House of Saud, they?re bastards but the bastards we know and the alternative is very grim indeed.

Oh crap Scamp, I was so hoping nobody would say what you just did... I got a feeling you are right, and I am not a little bit ticked off that our government is not talking straight to us (on 28 pages and in other places and ways too).

Right now it is impossible to project what might happen next, or soon, or eventually... but I ain't real excited about us blowing $4,000,000,000 a month on Iraq when we've gotten ourselves into this role of saving the middle east for democracy (among other things being done in our name around the globe)!

Damn it, if a person just says, "Let them kill each other off, let's get the hell outa there", somebody accuses you of being Isolationist.

I fail to see that our money and lives might not be better spent here at home though, in a WHOLE lot of ways. Four billion ain't chump change...

I am still extremely p----d off at the British for leaving that region in such a freakin' mess a hundred years ago, and for handling Palestine the way they did after WW II... methinks they're gettin' off mighty easy and we're takin' the brunt where we have no business takin' it.

Post We'll know in 50 years or so.

The House of Saud has brought most of their problems upon themselves. They live in great wealth and the people live from day to day in starvation conditions. If believe the house of Saud will fall in the next 3 to 10 years. Then we'll wish those dirty little royality idiots were back because then we'll be dealing with radical Muslims. As much as I detest the House of Saud the alternative is much worse!
