Unhappy Milestones of life

Went to Kroger after work yesterday to get a few grocery things. Wed. at Kroger is " Senior Day - 5% off " When I got home I looked at the tape and noticed they gave me the senior discount. This was a first - at 55 I have refused to join AARP , but to no avail - now they just look at me and give me the discount. If some little #%*@# tries to walk me across the street today they will pay !! I feel old today. :re:

Default don't worry John...

...it's when they say "sit in this chair, and here's a warm shawl, and we'll be back to get you in a bit"....
...and we all know that won't happen for a few weeks yet ...
...now take your geritol, and shush up.......

Nothing wrong with AARP. I joined when I was 50. It's pretty cheap and I use the hotel/motel discount all the time. It pays for itself real quick. Always remember that the people who have the most birthdays, live the longest.

Default Funny thing

I was carded for beer today. After I showed them the ID I went out the door saying, "Fooled you, didn't I?" I'll have to admit after that I asked them if this precluded me from getting my senior citizen discount. AARP-it's cheaper to be a coot. Didn't show them that card.

Talking

I went to a Tavern with friends, including my son Chris when he was 21.

I was carded and he was not. He's still holding a grudge over that.

I have an AARP card even though I don't qualify, yet. Darrel does so I got one anyway

Thumbs up I use my AARP

For meals and motels. I'm not ashamed! I'm cheap.

DMZ;

That's ok old friend - we are getting old. Reality is a real kick in the ass sometimes.

I too find it hard to believe that so much time has gone by.
I look at the kids now my oldest is 30 so that's the reality
check that hits home.

You're not alone. Imagine the older WWII Vets (my Dad was
one) who are dropping like flies. Soon there won't be any
of them left to carry their message. My Dad passed last
year and my Brother four years ago died from complications
of agent orange.

I've been to see the Doc more than once in the last five
years and I just can't change the outcome. Enjoy my
friend - its a fixed deck and you can't change the cards.

Default The best cure for feeling old

is gettin' on the Harley and ride. I feel 19 and hear"get your motor runnin' move out on the highway" playing in my head. To me my bike is same same The Fountain of Youth, Ponce De Leon , :cl: searched for. He just never made it to Milwalkee[sp].
