Default Military Service is no service?

Twenty-four years in the military doesn't count as public service, at least according to Virginia Democratic Congressman Jim Moran.
In a video that's gone viral online, Moran is heard telling a Democratic gathering earlier this month that his opponent, Republican Patrick Murray, is just another unqualified GOP candidate.
"What [Republicans] do is find candidates, usually stealth candidates, that haven't been in office, haven't served or performed in any kind of public service," Moran said. "My opponent is typical, frankly."
The trouble is, Murray is a retired Army colonel with 24 years of service--including combat in Iraq. The idea that such an extensive military record doesn't qualify as "public service" has left a sour taste in Murray's mouth.
"It is unconscionable to me how a member of Congress from a District with so many Veterans, who also sits on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, could make such shameful and offensive comments about the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform," Murray wrote on his campaign blog [1] Friday."This kind of disrespect to our service members not only offends me, but is insensitive to the sacrifices made by our dedicated military families as well."
Moran responded Friday, telling local news outlet WJLA that he simply misspoke, and his constituents know that's not what he meant. The Murray campaign points out that the congressman had the same sort of explaining to do earlier this month, when he claimed an endorsement from the Disabled American Veterans Association and a high rating from the Military Officer's Association. The latter organization reportedly [2] asked Moran to cease using its name in support of his campaign efforts.

Default U.S. Congressman Moran BABBLES NONSENSE!

No Greater Service To Country EXISTS than in The U.S. Military,...bar none.

Even 100 Continuous Years of SAFE & SECURE Politically Elected or Appointed Service to
country, pales in comparison. There's no comparison in WORTHINESS or MERIT either.

Hell,...silly comparing career-BSers to Brave & Courageous Warriors is actually Quite Stupid.

Besides, America's Military oath-takers Defend Our Constitution, to the death if need be.
Whereas many bent career-politicos prefer changing or rewriting same constitution as liked, instead.

Take you pick. Vote for Marxist/Socialist/Leftist Ideologues or PATRIOTS.
It's really that easy. Stay Free or merely cave-in to verbal Tyranny??

Jim Moran is one of the most liberal, anti-military, anti-America leeches in this country.

Default Friends & Fellow TRUE Patriots,...

SuperScout rightfully stating that Jim Moran is: "ONE of The Most..." is TRULY SAD for US (both ways).

Besides, doesn't such: "ONE of Most..." pose quite troubling questions?

Just how much longer can Our Beloved America & rest of We TRUE Patriots survive
so-damn-many: "Anti-military" & "Anti-America leeches (both public & private sector marxists)"
FROM WITHIN?

When all such ilk are wisely & righteously voted out their Dictatorial Positions, will all their
deeply intrenched Bureaucratic Plants, Cohorts and/or political appointees be fired ALSO?

If not (?),...We Americans will be just as insanely vulnerable to Muslim Terrorism & Saboteurs,
AS BEFORE.

Neil

The OP was yet another example, in a long line of facts, that by and large, the Democrats don't like the military, and vote accordingly, while denying the military the vote they so definitely deserve. God bless our warriors. And may they get their ballots in the mail in time.
