Det cord

I carried 150 feet of det cord along with a block of c-4 and 2 packages of Comp-B
Det cord could be put in one end of a claymore while the other end had a blasting cap that was hooked to the hand held generator. The det cord could be put in C-4 , Comp- B or take the fuse from a grenade and put it inside a grenade, or string Claymores together. Det cord was nothing more than C-4 inside a 1/4 inch dia clear plastic tube. They say you could cut a tree with it, I never tried, a pack of comp-B and Det cord would definitely blow a tree about 2 foot in dia.
The most interesting thing I ever did with det cord was hook it to a trip flare and lay out about 20 feet of det cord. The trip flare went off and ignited the c-4 which burned like c-4, took awhile and lite up the area.

Ron, When we had enough time we would string det cord about 10 feet off to either side of a trail we were going to ambush and hook it to a seperate detonator. When we blew the bush the remaining bad guys would dive either side of the trail sometimes laying on the det cord with various body parts, then we would blow the det cord.
