Here’s Why https://www.news18.com/news/world/pa...y-5036407.html The sinking of the MOskva has caused some concern for the Chinese Navy as well as for Chinese president Xi Jinping. An analysis by Katsuji Nakasawa for Nikkei Asia outlines that China's worries concern Lianoning - its primary aircraft carrier - as it is made from remnants of the Soviet-made aircraft carrier Varyag. The concern stems from the fact that if Varag's armour is based on former Soviet standards like the Moskva then it would become a liability for Beijing if it decides to take Taiwan by force. Chian has not dicounted the possibility that in the future it might use military force to reunite Taipei with Beijing. In that case, the drowing of the Moskva using US-made anti-ship Nepturn missiles and Turkish made Bayraktar drones could lead to concerns for the Chinese presiden Xi Jinping who airms to modernise the Chinese PLA within this decades. A person familiar with the developement told Nikkei Asia that the Moskva sinking risk making Chinese vessels, especially the Liaoning, look like 'paper tigers'. (There's much more on these issues on the site link if interested)
