VNV...it is going to be real difficult if your records don't show exactly what happened. Mine didn't return to the states with me and if it wasn't for a Major, Ortho surgeon, I would have been real screwed. When you first filed a claim the VA would have ordered up your records immediately so whatever they have is it. A morning report would probably only have that you went to 15th Med, at the most, but probably no other info. I worked in the Vet Center program for years and may be able to help....may not, but if you want to PM me you can if there are things you need to talk about you don't want on the forum. Maybe if I know exactly what you are filing for, I may be able to help.

Yes, tell us a little more about what you are trying to do. You may not need a record of your wound to further your claim especially if you have a CIB.

I forgot to mention that sometimes AAR's, After Action Reports, may have that you were wounded by "friendly", (not too friendly that day), fire. Those the VA can also access. I see you were a little agrivated by a couple of the questions, if you have a CIB it's a sure thing your probably and 11B...but don't be. Here to help if I can and others too.

I have previously asked the ffice:smarttags" />lace w:st="on">NATIONAL PERSONNEL RECORDS CENTERlace> to check the Morning Reports and After Action Reports, with nothing being found. I have a copy of my C-File which is about 4 1/4 inch thick and the record is not in that file. Interesting is that the copies of my medical records I received, that there are four additional pages of my medical records in my C-File.fficeffice" />>>
I have recently filled a NA form 13055 “REQUEST FOR INFORMATION NEEDED TO RECONSTRUCT MEDICAL DATA”, see attachment. Now it is wait and see.>>

Packo mentioned that it could help to know what you are filing for, or the purpose of your research? That seems a good idea to me too... having done a bunch of this for others myself.

1 - A PTSD shrink has written that I said I was injured but have no proof
therefore inferring that I am a liar about the wound and who knows
what else.
I am rated 50% for PTSD and 10% for Tinnitus.
2 - However I have a 0% service connected disability for a wound
received while in Vietnam. I do not care about a higher rating for the wound.
The wound does not bother me.
3 - Therefore I am not filing for anything that has to do with the wound however, I would like my Purple Heart, my stolen valor.

Good a reason as any... I hope you do find some documentation. That's a really tough thing for so many. If we'd only known then what we would need to know later... we'd have taken a lot more photos and kept every single scrap of paper, right?
