Quan Loi LZ. The truce seemed to be holding (Communists honoring Christmas!) so most of my medical clearing company got drunk or otherwise. I had a lifesize freestanding cutout of a girl in a bikini sent to me by one of my buddies in the world. It looked real when you stood beside her and had your picture taken. I had fun sending those to people telling them how I had it made in Vietnam. That all ended Christmas 1968. My drunken company commander raped her. She was all bent up and stained so that ended that. Later on that night guys in other areas of the base starting shooting at the gunships circling overhead with their M-16s on full auto. I have had better Christmases.
