Original Boonie Rat Hat!
I may be getting my original Boonie Hat back. It's a long story....will fill y'all in if this happens. It's been missing for 38 years. Stay tuned to this station!

Man, that's great! A long-lost friend!  I still have my steel pot (paratroop configuration) with camo cover, my jump boots, my rigger knife (TL-29) and my P-38 can opener!

Bad News....
The old friend that I haven't heard from in 30+ years does not have my old Boonie Hat. Remembers it and is going to ask her long ago ex if he knows it's whereabouts....but no she does not have it....RATS! "Another day, another escapade, another dream down the drain". Steve, Cool you still have the other stuff. I do have my P-38 which has been to Iraq twice and is going to Afghanistan, with Saint Michael, soon. Pack

The only thing that came home with me is what I was walking with when I got hit. Boonie hat was one of those things and almost 20 years ago I gave it to my youngest son. Haven't seen it since.

When I was in the PI I had a fatigue cap made with some home state references sewn on it. Had it for about 2 months then, one day, I had to climb up into the tail of a C-141 to lube the horizontal stabilizer so I put it in my back pocket. A few hours later the plane left for Thailand. Haven't seen the hat since and I don't think any inquiries to Thailand would help now.

Turned out
To be an old picture of me when I was a Grim Reaper. Sent it to some of the guys...hopefully someone can post it. I don't know how but it shows the scooter I built with my own little clean hands....Only pic I have of those times.
